Kara was named “Best Reporter” by Hartford Magazine, “Top 40 under 40” Hartford Business Journal and Connecticut Magazine, and is a board member for Dress for Success Hartford.
She is married to fellow news anchor Dennis House and mom to cherished children Helena and Julian.

Highly recommend!

I can’t recommend this book highly enough. I watch Kara Sundlun on TV and knew of her story. Having always loved tales of family reunions I ordered a copy as soon as I could. It’s a great read! Kara showed amazing grit and determination, especially for a teen, in pursuing her father insisting that he acknowledge her but even more importantly that he be part of her life. Theirs is truly a love story for the ages. The fact that he was a wealthy Governor who lived in a world she probably had never even dreamed of made the story that much more fascinating. I was also more than impressed with her sensitivity to her mother who had raised her as a single parent yet was supportive of Kara’s need to connect with the father she had never known. If any aspect of this story interests you, read the book - you will not be disappointed.

The book was wonderful from start to finish

I just finished reading "Finding Dad", and I can't say enough about it. The book was wonderful from start to finish. I was aware of Kara's search, as I am a fan of WFSB and Better Connecticut. I give Kara so much credit for not giving up on her search for her father. The book made me laugh and cry, and was such a joy to read. Governor Sundlun was truly a remarkable man, and has left quite a legacy behind.

A Wonderful Love Story

This is a heartwarming story of a teenage girl who is determined to connect with a dad she has not known for 18 years. She is the love child of Rhode Island's then Governor, Bruce Sundlun. Kara forces a meeting with her dad and is tenacious about building a relationship. She never gave up hope that they would truly connect as father and daughter. This is truly a love story--a fairy tale with a happy ending. It is also about the power of forgiveness. "Finding Dad" is a read that will not only warm your heart but will make you realize that Kara Sundlun is a REMARKABLE woman!
