This is not a book about music, it is not about directing a choir or playing the organ to lead worship although it certainly covers those areas. It is not a book for the contemporary church worship leader or the traditional church worship leader, it is a book for leadership and ministry that is founded on Scripture. When the framework of worship is based on sound theology, the creative ways in which to glorify God are endless The author makes this his central focus! The book is written in a vernacular that allows, even encourages. all leadership in ministry to easily digest the material. You do not have to be a “five talent” musician to profit from your time with the content. The chapter divisions are conceptual in nature which allows you to move through the material one concept at a time as you build a Total Framework for ministerial leadership, which includes being a Worship Leader. Don’t get me wrong this is not a theoretical book but it is a book of practical suggestions and rules of engagement for the worship leader but the principals apply to all forms of leadership in ministry. The Framework for Worship is indispensible for the Worship Leader of any style or denomination as the author uses his extensive experiences to answer the hard questions. He covers the issues no one wants to talk about. This book will help you develop your skills and avoid the heartaches that so often comes with leadership in ministry. I have worshiped under the authors leadership and He is real, and what he writes about is real.

More Than Just Book for Worship Leaders!

What a work of art this book is! The combination of instruction/suggestions for worship leaders, combined with solid biblical backup and downright practical advice, makes it a must-read for musicians and worshippers alike. As a part of the Calvary Fort Lauderdale family (now via the Plantation campus) for the past thirteen years, it was so interesting to read how the nuts and bolts of the Worship Team operates (auditions, sound, rehearsals, etc.). But this book is SO much more than that! Not only was it a chance to see into the heart of a pastor and leader...to see the integrity and care that he took with the ministry that had been entrusted to him - but this book encourages ALL of us to examine our hearts - in the way we worship, the way we treat others, the way we pray and even give, the approach we take to change and to authority, the ways we handle the challenges of discord and yes - even scandal. Pastor Clay, thank you for writing this book...for taking the time to share with others...as a mentor, as a pastor, as a husband/dad, as a fellow traveler through this "land" preparing for the next. Thank you for taking the time to liberally share God's Word throughout the book, always pointing back to Him and what He says. Proverbs 27:19 "As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man."
