Loved it!

Nancy Curteman’s latest mystery, Murder On The Seine, pulls you in from the first page with an intriguing setting, compelling characters, and a dead body.
Corporate trainer Lysi Weston and her colleague Grace Wright, on a business trip to Paris, aren’t even over jet lag before they receive a call from a Parisian police inspector. A dead woman was pulled from the Seine with no identification, except for Lysi’s business card.
Lysi is steps ahead of the incompetent inspector, and her investigative skills take her deep into the woman’s life and the lives of the victim’s fiancé and sister. Ms. Curteman is very adept at planting red herrings and false leads, and for introducing a full cast of suspect characters, all well-drawn and interesting, but who only serve to throw Lysi off track.
What I love about Ms. Curteman's mysteries are the unique tidbits that give the setting depth and authenticity. As Lysi and Grace visit different parts of Paris and travel to the Basque country, we're immersed in setting, with enough detail to feel like you’re there, but not reading a travelogue. Ms. Curteman also provides something for the palette: there’s all the wine, of course, but also the five-star dinners, the cafes, the pastries, and the traditional delicacies. As a bonus, Ms. Curteman includes a few recipes at the end of the book.
Add in Lysi’s fiancé, Maynard Christie and Grace's new love interest, Chess Pennington, and you’ll definitely want to keep reading. You’ll be guessing until the very end while you enjoy an armchair travel trip to France!

Curteman is comfortable writing about France and it shows

Nancy Curteman likes to embroil her amateur sleuth Lysi Weston in murder mysteries set in intriguing places. This time it’s France, where Lysi and her sharp-tongued traveling companion Grace Wright stumble into the murder of a woman whose body is found floating in the River Seine. Lysi’s business card is on the body.
Curteman is comfortable writing about France and it shows. Scenes are realistic as the story moves from the Paris nightlife to the mountain lair of kidnappers. Complicating Lysi’s detective efforts are the arrival of her Aussie fiancé and a bumbling French police inspector.
All in all, it’s another good mystery story set in an interesting foreign locale.

Great read!

I was up till midnight because I was at the ending and couldn't stop - this author does suspense in spades! I love her Lysi Westin series. Couldn't wait till this new one came out and now eagerly awaiting her next, which is now in progress.
