Oh the many, many feels!

"Our goal is this and only this: Saving Poughkeepsie."
Man, oh, man!
I'm still reeling from all the things that happened, that went down in this book. Ms Anastasia needs to give me a lot of hugs - she even offered her bosom to me - because I'm left empty. Drained up. I got teary-eyed, I laughed and melted. Not to mention, chewed on my nails because there were quite some angsty scenes.
So, Beckett and Eve are happy together but it can easily be taken away from them because Rodolfo Vitullo, the man whose daughter Eve killed in Return to Poughkeepsie, wants Eve for a very sick plan of his. Of course he doesn't succeed because Eve is just that bad*ss, but nobody knows the old bastard finds another way to getting what he wants. And he comes this close to succeeding in that one.
Poughkeepsie becomes safe again, slowly but surely. It becomes a safe haven for misfits, just like in Maryland - Beckett realized ruling with an iron fist and putting the fear into people wasn't the way to go, so he tried with loyalty.
There's a peaceful period, after some things that went down - I either teared-up because of the aw-moments or because of the sad ones, but nonetheless, tear up, I did - and then everything blows up.
I can't even explain all of this, without giving something away. Every detail is important, everything they do. Beckett, once again, places everyone else above himself. That man is something unbelievable and he's a thousand kinds of amazing! I'll only say this, that bastard has a romantic side that turned me to mush. He evolved and changed so much, throughout the series. All of them did, but I think this change is most noticeable at him because he rose from the drug lord and pimp ruler, to the pseudo-saint that wants what's best for his family and his people. Just you read and see for yourself.
I knew reading this book would be bittersweet. I knew it. I was also lucky enough to read an early copy of it, for which I will be forever grateful! This series is different, it combines so many things, friendship, family, deep bonds that do not need blood to be created and kept. It's just wow and awesome.

5 +++ stars. I'll be rereading this series many times because I'll miss these characters. I may not have met them, back when the very first book was published, I may be a recent fan, but I do know that I fell and I fell hard. There's no going back now.
P.S. It may be the end of an era, but it's the beginning of a new one.
P.P.S. My dream came true, in the epilogue. Technically, before that. Read it and maybe you'll figure it out.

Hold on to your hats….this book was quite the adventure. Let me start by saying that Debra Anastasia knows how to write a book/series that keeps you wanted more of these characters. Saving Poughkeepsie is book 3 in her Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series and I have to say I loved each one of them equally. This is an AMAZING series. What I loved about this book and the others was that we got so much more than just one story. This was more of three stories in one. Debra's writing is flawless and engaging. This book sucked me in as soon as I started it and didn't let go until it was done. Saving Poughkeepsie was a continuation of Beckett and Eve's story but we still got to see Blake and Livia and Kyle and Cole's story play out. These three brother's lives are so entwined that you can't really tell the story without telling all their stories.
I loved the direction that she took with this story. I can honestly say I didn't see it coming and I haven't read anything like this before. I won't be telling any secrets about the storyline, just know it will keep you turning the page. I am also glad to say that my love for Beckett is still just as strong as it was in the first two books. Beckett was just as raw and gritty in this book as before, but I was glad to say that we also got to see another side of him that made me love him even more ;) I also enjoyed watching Eve and Beckett grow stronger in this book. They truly are each other soul mates.
As I said before we also got to follow the journey of Blake, Livia, Kyle and Cole in all three of these books. I was so glad that we got to continue on with their stories as well, sometimes in series we lose previous characters or are only given small glimpses into their futures. That is not the case with this series. There is NO way to tell one story without telling the others.
I know that this review is pretty repetitive and vague, but I truly believe that this is the type of series you need to go into blind. I would definitely recommend every one of these books. If you are looking for an interesting storyline with amazing characters and is nothing like you've read before….Then pick up this series….You won't be sorry :)

A gorgeous series conclusion! (Non-spoiler review)

After reading book 2, I wondered how the hell Debra Anastasia was going to conclude the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood series. One couple in particular seemed to have so much stacked against them. Well, this series concludes in an epic way…EPIC I tell you!
The themes of brotherhood, friendship, and family continue to be ever present in Saving Poughkeepsie. I think this is one of the reasons why this series has a huge fan base. People relate to and care for these characters in some way. In the midst of all the pain and tragedy, they just want to know if everything will be ok.
In this installment, evil is wrecking havoc all over. Boy, does this person have HUGE, unbelievable plans! For each couple, Ms. Anastasia has lovingly crafted special moments that made me swoon to the stars! So much love and devotion is expressed for Blake and Livia. Although hinted in the summary, Cole and Kyle get to experience happiness tenfold, but there’s so much more that goes down you’ll have to read it to find out what happens. Finally, there is Beckett and Eve. I was weary on how things would conclude for these two, but it was pulled off in such a way that only Debra Anastasia can write it! Beckett is such a bad boy (who is trying to be good) and Eve’s biggest dream seemed so impossible to achieve. Ms. Anastasia gave them a roller-coaster journey throughout the entire series, and more so in this book. What a wild and twisted plot filled with humor, love, and suspense!
The Poughkeepsie Brotherhood series is best appreciated when read in order. Saving Poughkeepsie is a MUST READ for fans. You will love it!!!
Although I’m sad that the series has concluded, these characters will live on strong in my heart. Thank you, Debra Anastasia, for telling this gorgeous story and taking me on quite the journey to Poughkeepsie!
