About the Author
Kristin Carroccino is a writer, editor, and artist currently living in Seattle. She is a contributor to and editor of two books: A Journey into Wholeness: Soul Travel from Lent to Easter and A Journey toward Home: Soul Travel from Advent through Epiphany, both publications of Mustard Seed Associates. Her poetry has appeared in several small journals. She enjoys teaching her son and daughter all sorts of interesting things, especially natural history and mindfulness techniques. She is learning a lot about robotics from her son and how to build fairy houses and use a sewing machine from her daughter. She experiences the movement of Spirit most often in nature, listening to beautiful music and prayers, and reading complicated poetry and prose on the couch under a blanket with a mug of warm tea. What Faith Really Means

I read Boats Without Oars while traveling myself, held captive on a train, fortunately with this wonderful book in hand. I could not put it down. The combination of fascinating essays and fine art-in-print was magical for me. This book is a fine companion at any time and especially while traveling because it is the story of the Carroccinos' summer trip around the U.S.visiting progressive and welcoming Episcopal churches. Boats Without Oars gave me a fresh understanding of what faith really means and a family's commitment and life within it.
