I have read all of Jeff's books, and "Moonshine & Murder" is my favorite. He knows how to write a story with rich characters, fascinating history, compelling storyline and tension on every page. I feel like I've known George and Ruth my whole life and I care about them. It's hard to put the book down. The ending is a nail-biter. A very enjoyable book! I can't wait to read his next one!

St. Louis was hosting the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition commonly called the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. The Fair brought millions of visitors to St. Louis, leading the crafty Vaughn to surmise it would be the perfect place to hide out. Vaughn’s decision would put him squarely up against St. Louis Chief of Detectives William Desmond and his able group of detectives. The result would be the deadliest shootout in St. Louis Police history followed by one of the most brazen prison breaks in Missouri history. This book examines the parallel careers of the St. Louis Police Officers and criminals leading to a collision course in a rooming house on Pine Street. The leader and only survivor of the shootout would meet his own violent end a year later. Read this detailed true crime account with more thrills than anything imagined in fiction.

I had a feeling about who the culprit was and I was right! But that wasn't the main focus of the story to me, it was rebuilding family ties. I hope David can be healed in the next installment! And what about Martha and Tim? Hurry with the next book! Funny thing is while I'm reading these books I wish I could learn to quilt, but I never think of it between books.

SO GOOD, I couldn't even finish it before giving it away

ARG! I wish I could keep some of Natasha's books on my shelf! They're all so great I'm constantly giving mine away and buying more.
Ok, so that's a good problem, I guess.
Anyway, Word Snacks is a great devotional based on Scripture and snippets of real life. I love the thought-provoking, soul-searchingness of this book. The only slight downside is that the personal stories in it don't seem to be exactly in chronological order, so if you don't follow Natasha's (awesome) blog or know her story, then you might find yourself kinda scratching your head during a couple parts when she hops from one time to another.That really is totally a side issue though, since this is a devotional, not a narrative. The main part is very wholesome and worth the read. It makes me want to dig into my Bible and read more, which is a very good fruit and effect!

Natasha Metzler writes in a heart-restoring way. She's honest about pain and sorrow, but she never loses hope. That's why I love reading her writing. Pain Redeemed is that kind of book that changes your life, helps you see faith in a different way, and inspires you to live it out daringly. WordSnacks is just that kind of book again.

Another thing I love about Natasha's writing? Her love for Jesus and belief that His Word is not just enriching but necessarily nourishing. She reads the Bible not just because we should but because we must.
