Heather Holliday has worked as a freelance writer and editor for more than 10 years. She has written for a huge range of clients, from a top comic book publisher to the U.S.’s leading baking product company. She has also written articles for consumer, business, and kids’ magazines and was the managing editor of a regional magazine. Her writing has won a number of awards, including top honors in article writing for the international Hermes Creative Awards. She wrote "Best Well-Known Garden-Inspired Secrets" because when she was researching uses for lemons, she got hooked on the idea of going to the garden to create a cleaner, healthier, happier home. And while she is not a great gardener, DIYer, or crafter, she wishes she were. She does have avocado, lemon, apple, peach, and kumquat trees in her backyard. But the best fruit she ever ate were cherries that she picked from a tree in a Bulgarian village.

I devoured this book! The Miracle Mint Water lives up to its name. I always keep a jar of it in the fridge now. Lots of easy ideas in this book - and best of all I have all these things growing in my garden or on my counter.

Great book! Packed with creative, easy-to-follow tips

I just finished this terrific book by Heather Holliday. I would recommend it to anyone! I had been looking for simple, easy-to-make, environmentally-friendly cleaning products - and this book had all the answers. It is jam-packed with great tips for using natural products, like citrus fruits and mint, to do everything from clean faucets to get rid of laundry stains. And it goes well beyond cleaning - it shows how simple items from the garden can keep pests away, cure headaches, freshen your breath, and much more (who knew cucumber skins could be used as erasers?). I don't even have a garden, but this book is still the perfect resource. I'll refer to it often. A quick, fun read with so many great ideas!
