About the Author

Frank DeMarco is the author of nine books rooted in 25 years of psychic exploration, including The Cosmic Internet, Afterlife Conversations with Hemingway, and The Sphere and the Hologram.  Since 2005, he has been actively engaged in an on-going series of conversations with various non-physical beings, including historical individuals, "past lives," aspects of personal guidance, and a generalized group he calls "the guys upstairs."

Another fascinating book by Frank DeMarco

The title of this book might make you think that you have to have some sort of health issue to benefit from it. No. It's full of great, practical advice for taking care of yourself mind, body, and soul, and includes a few really wonderful visualizations that you'll want to do every day. This is a short book, something you'll read in just a day or two. Well worth your time! Thanks to Frank DeMarco for continuing his exploration of human consciousness and spirit. Every one of his books offers some fascinating reading!

EXACTLY what the wisest doctors order

I can't begin to tell people how grateful I am for Frank DeMarco's work on this book. Simple explanations, to the point, just enough background for someone at my stage of learning self-awareness. (Rita was right. No need to apologize on the later personal stories. Biographies are my favorite dramas because they contain recognizable-relatable truth. They give me hope for my own problems/opportunities and additional evidence we're all in this together.) Wish I had read this one all the way through weeks ago...but...was focused on other topics. Got bogged down in Rita's World (though I enjoy exploration there, as well), decided to come back to a more familiar Earth by picking up the wellness book again. Had trouble finding a stopping point this time. Everything was ringing clear and true. Hope I can remember to put these techniques and good common sense to work. TRUST has been my biggest hurdle. Choosing to believe, in order to understand is the first step. And reminding myself I really have NOTHING to lose (fear). In the larger picture, everything works to the ultimate good of the soul. Now...gotta take this hanging on feeling of asthma, itchy lungs, and learn from it. (Clear the air literally and figuratively, give the mind/body/soul mechanism the love it needs, among other basics. One of which is pulling me away from this gadget...sleep!)

About the Author
Mary McManus grew up in Westchester, NY and contracted paralytic polio in 1959 at the age of 5, during one of the last polio epidemics in the United States. She was at the height of her 20 year award winning career as a social worker at the VA when she was diagnosed with post polio syndrome, a progressive neuromuscular disease. She did not take the diagnosis of post polio syndrome sitting down. She embarked on a healing odyssey that began with a leap of faith as she left her social work career to heal her life and to follow her new found passion as a poet and writer. The first poem she penned in February of 2007 was "Running the Race," a foreshadowing of her 2009 Boston Marathon run. Her pen became her divining rod for healing. Mary is a 2009 Boston Marathon finisher, blogger, the author of 5 books of inspirational poetry and her memoir, "Coming Home: A Memoir of Healing, Hope and Possibility.” In her latest book, “Journey Well,” Mary rewrites the story she tells in her memoir. The facts of her past are unchanged but the pain and terror are healed. She holds a BS in Public Relations from Boston University, an MSW from Boston College and many fond memories of her social work career at the VA in her heart. She is enjoying her retirement and delights in running, swimming, fund raising, writing and sharing her inspirational journey.

About the Author
Paul Joseph Goebbels (1897–1945) was an early member of the Nazi Party and reputedly had the highest IQ in the party. He obtained a PhD from Heidelberg University in 1921 with a thesis in nineteenth century Romantic School Literature; he then went on to work as a journalist. By 1924, he had joined the NSDAP and two years later was appointed leader of the party in Berlin to wrest political control of that city from the Communist Party—an objective in which he succeeded. Elected to the Reichstag in 1928, Goebbels took an active part in Hitler’s coming to power in 1933, and was appointed minister of information (then called “propaganda”), a position he held until the end of the war, when he committed suicide rather than fall into Allied captivity.

Brilliant Brilliant Man, wish we had him today. Never once did he lie, mislead or misrepresent the political situations to the people. He was right on the mark with every assessment of Bolshevism and truly wanted his people safe and aware. For it was Hitler and Mastermind Goebbels that saved all of Europe from being devoured by Jewish communism.

About the Author
Chris Eirschele obtained a horticultural education from Milwaukee Area Technical College, and was a Master Gardener while living in Wisconsin. Her muse finds inspiration from 30+ years growing plants, creating gardens in her Midwest backyards, and now in Arizona – and traveling through public and private gardens. Chris began gardening more than 30 years ago with metal coffee cans for pots and coleus the only plant she grew. Now she writes about gardening: the how-to, make-believe and true-life stories. Chris Eirschele is a freelance garden writer with her work published in a variety of print and electronic media. Chris lived her growing up years with parents who thrived on gardening and whose stories were recently published in an ebook titled, Garden Truths From My Family's Stories. Chris has been a member of the Garden Writers Association since 2006.

but a favorite part of the book to kids is counting the ...

Just finished reading this book. If you have kids- and want to help them stretch in new areas, this is a must read! Unexpected, but a favorite part of the book to kids is counting the spots on a ladybug. In my family, we have had a fear of bugs... but now I am understanding that fear is caused by simply not understanding (the bugs). When you talk about them in advance, and give the children something to do when they encounter the bugs, the fear moves to interest.

When we planted the fairly garden.... the garden tools were invented. A spoon was a trowel, our garden shears were scissors and our rake was a fork. Such a great use of imagination. Then every day, the kids would want to reuse the garden tools... as they played in the fairy gardens. Matchbox cars have come to live ( and sometimes be buried) in the Fairy Gardens. Plus combining a few different areas of the book... we planted a spicy oregano in one of the fairy gardens. We make a focaccia bread using the spicy oregano on top. The kids love picking the oregano and helping to make the bread.

Handy guide for sharing and learning about growing plants of all types

Great guide with extensive photographs, advice for making appropriate decisions for your project, and best of all, space for your own journal with each chapter. Bonus resources are included in each section, which covers different types of gardens--food, decorative--to making use of the space you have and how to choose effective tools so you don't waste money and time. This handy little guide is put together with skill and passion for growing things and best of all, passing that passion on to the next generation. Good job!

The best kid gardening book I've seen yet

From the book: “Big people, as well as little people, get trapped in the perfection of growing a garden: All the rows neat, all the plants straight and tall, and no holes in their leaves. But perfection is never achieved in gardening….”

Boy, was I ever glad to read that paragraph. Because even though I'm often accused of being a perfectionist, I really am not one—typographical-error-hunting aside (I'm an editor; it's what I do). This book, like most, does have some typos at the time of this writing, but it’s well worth overlooking them and benefiting from the wonderful ideas. My gardens have never been perfect, though some have been prolific, producing enough food to supply most of my family's needs. I've enjoyed gardening with my children all their lives, but this book gave me some ideas I never would have come up with on my own.

Even if you have very little time or money, you can put this book to good use and raise some beautiful plants with your children. I think we'll do a fairy garden next time.

Michael W. Taft is an author, editor, meditation teacher, and neuroscience junkie. He is currently a meditation coach specializing in secular, science-based meditation training in corporate settings. An excellent and accessible overview of Nondualism

Michael Taft’s brief guide was a perfect overview for me, a daily meditator with roots in the Vipassana tradition. I now have a basic understanding of Nondualism (“the philosophical and religious concept that all things are essentially one,” as defined by Taft) and its place in the history of spiritual thought; it is a jumping off point for me to dive into detailed histories of Nondualism in Eastern and Western thought. I highly recommend this to anyone in a Nondual practice who would like to see how Nondualism fits into other traditions.

Exellent little book. I enjoy reading this a lot. I am recognizing a lot in my experience. I am learning a treamendous lot and it is deepening my experience. 35 Years ago I have been in a class to study Shankara. Now I can defenitely relate to his thoughts on nonduality. Very cool book!! Thanks Michael!! The unpretentious way of writing makes this history very accesseble.

modern and easy to read introduction to Nondualism

A short, concise, modern and easy to read introduction to Nondualism. I really liked how the author set out right away the difference between nondual awareness (nonduality in practice), and the study of the subject, Nondualism. He focused on the latter. He covers most of the big areas in the history of Nondualism, and it sets the stage for more research, if one is interested.

Dogs Are People Too is a delightful book that shines an interesting light on dog lovers. Based on the memories of a veterinarian, it delves into topics such as dressing your pet and throwing memorable parties for your pet, as well as preparing for the loss of an elderly dog. Many of the stories were laugh-out-loud funny. A few left me misty-eyed. All made me re-think the lengths some owners go to in making a home for their furry friends. Dogs Are People Too would make a great gift for any adult dog lover. I don't recommend it for children.
